Do you underestimate the power of supporting other women? Do you know how impactful that support can be on your own life? On your own success? On your daughters? When women empower other women, we all rise. No matter it be mentally, financially, emotionally or even physically. It’s a win for women. Period! Your success is our success and we should continue to pay it forward to other women helping them achieve their dreams and goals.
Paying it forward is not a choice. It’s a due diligence we as women have to each other. There was a short time ago, women had limited voices. We could not vote, or be hired for certain careers and even when we could, we did not receive the same pay or respect that some of our male colleagues in the same positions received. However, our voice is stronger than it has ever been. We now have a female Vice President and women hold seats of power in every industry. We need to use our platforms to encourage and inspire other women to be just as powerful. Do you have a social media page, a blog or a podcast? You don’t have to be famous to be inspirational. Uplift those in your circle. Do you see a need in the women you know? Start a book club on topics like building finances or side hustles. Sharing information monthly may empower one of these women to take a leap of faith and start a new business venture or consider ways to increase her financial portfolio. I said start a book club, but it can mean so much more. It’s opportunities to network with other women and build each other up.
It’s important that this mindset of encouragement, inspiration, motivation and strength for other women start young. We should encourage our daughters to treat other women as their equal. Not as competition. There are endless opportunities available, but sometimes we as women over look our own blessings by trying to stand in the way of someone else’s. We cannot ignore, criticize or downplay each other. Instead, we should look to other women for guidance, advice and support in both good and bad times. We should teach our girls to celebrate one another’s achievements and allow their success to motivate one another to be the best we all can be. I know I have not reached my full potential and look to other women, including my mentor for enlightenment, for suggestions, and for leadership.
