With the ongoing pandemic, having cocktails at the house are a must! We have to find ways to unwind and relax and a refreshing drink can do just that. I wanted to share some my top summer drinks. Piña Colada’s, Mimosa’s and Sangria are easy to make at home and taste so good! They’re even delicious as non-alcoholic versions. You can’t go wrong either way!
My all time favorite summer drink is a Piña Colada. Usually it’s on vacation somewhere but even in my livingroom, it always gives me that island or beach feel. How about you? Do you like Piña Colada’s too? I’m all about the sweet tasting drinks and this one doesn’t disappoint. I keep my blender ready and only need a few ingredients. I like mine blended but you can make them frozen too. I’m highlighting three versions.
~Regular Piña Colada: This is the basic Piña Colada. You need rum, cream of coconut, pineapple juice and crushed ice.
~Creamy Piña Colada: You’ll need rum, cream of coconut, pineapple juice, heavy whipping cream and crushed ice. Add more ice to make it extra creamy.
~Virgin Piña Colada: Plus everyone needs a non-alcoholic option. Simply add cream of coconut, pineapple juice and crushed ice. Consider adding a twist with some chopped strawberries and pineapple slices. Blend this up for refreshing goodness!
You should also try flavored Mimosa’s. Make sure you have a shaker and a blender on hand to mix up these drinks.
~Pineapple Mimosa Slushie: You’ll need champagne, frozen mango, pineapple, lemon juice and crushed ice. This one is for the blender again.
~Mimosa Mojito: Combine champagne, simple syrup, orange juice, lime juice, rum, mint leaves and ice. Shake it up!
Did you know you could also use sparkling wine instead of champagne?! So whatever’s your preference works!
~And I can’t forget a non-alcoholic Mimosa: Perrier L’Orange flavor, orange juice, pineapple juice and top with an orange slice to make this drink look good too!
Last but definitely not least from my top three go to drinks, would be Sangria!
Watermelon Sangria: Combine white wine, vodka, triple sec, watermelon, lime, oranges and blueberries. Perfect for hot summer days!
White Peach Sangria: Stir up some white wine, peach vodka, lemonade, white peaches and red/green grapes.
And my non-alcoholic Sangria drink is all about your fruit choices. This particular drink is customizable to your preference. Combine cran-grape juice, cran-apple, orange juice, lemon juice and slice up and add your favorite fruits including apples, oranges, lemons, mangos and blackberries. Make sure you allow you’re Sangria to chill for a few hours or overnight for the best taste. Then right before serving, add sparkling water or ginger ale. Again, it’s all about your preference!
