Let yourself REST!

For the last few weeks, I’ve been having writer’s block. I believe it’s due to having too much on my mind and the hustle and bustle of life. The Lord reminded me of the importance of rest. To avoid feelings of being worn out and overwhelmed it’s important that we rest physically, mentally and even spiritually.

The bible says that in Matthew 14:13 that even Jesus had to remove himself from the crowd “After finding out about the death of John the Baptist: “As soon as Jesus heard the news he went off by himself in a boat to a remote area to be alone.” Can you visualize Jesus alone on that boat going to a remote place by himself to rest and to talk with the father?  Again, it’s important to set aside some time just for the Lord. Use that time to pray and ask God to renew your mind. I have a mountain of tasks to complete daily; household duties and projects at work and I ask God constantly to intervene on my behalf so I can get things accomplished.

I am a witness that God has never failed me yet! when I feel the pressures of life building up around me I remind myself that better days are ahead. Never allow yourself to get so overwhelmed by life that you forget to spend quality time with the Lord. When you get alone with the Lord ask him to perform something new in your life, ask him to surprise you, ask him to renew your strength because he longs to do those things for you. I want to remind the person reading this blog that God is bigger than your problems. Don’t talk to God about your problems but talk to your problems about your God.

My prayer for you is that God will provide you with everything that you need. May he overwhelm you with his love, peace, and comfort as you seek him for rest.

      1. You are so right! Around the 4th of July, I shut it down. REST is so important and I really need to do more of it. Thank you for sharing 🙂
