Have you ever wondered what the bible says about growing? Colossians 2:7 states “let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught and you will overflow with thankfulness.” I have good news for you!
God has created humanity with the ability to grow. Just as the caterpillar develops into the beautiful butterfly, human beings were preordained to grow in wisdom, grace and the knowledge of God. You were never meant to stay in the same position all of your life. Sadly if you don’t put the necessary work into building yourself both naturally and spiritually you will die without realizing your full potential.
There is no shortcut when it comes to growing. It takes time and it is a continual process. As a newborn babe grows into adulthood consider all of the stages of his development. It’s a long journey from being fed to having to feed yourself. Along the way, that child has to develop life skills in order to make it to adulthood.
In order to grow in 2019 you are going to need some divine help and thankfully it is available to all who will seek the Lord. It is time to not just survive but to thrive. To progress on your journey you must get stronger mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
1 Timothy 4:7 states “Take the time and the trouble to keep yourself spiritually fit.” It is time to get rid of the people and the habits that are keeping you stagnated. I want you to believe the word of God and speak it over your life daily. Each day you wake up is a gift from God, so use your days wisely. If you are not in right standing with God it is time to get right! Because the bible says Jesus will return like a theif in the night which means we don’t know the time or hour.
I would admonish you to stay spiritually alert for the Lord’s return. He is coming back just like he said that he would. The older saints use to say “ Don’t let him catch you with your work undone”.
