Discernment is in its simplest definition, “is nothing more than the ability to decide between truth and error, right and wrong. Discernment is the process of making careful distinctions in our thinking about truth.
In other words, the ability to think with discernment is synonymous with an ability to think biblically. As children of the Most High God it is important that we learn to discern between good and evil spirits. Daily conflicts will occur in your lives, but the ability to make sound judgment will save you.
Often, we are led by our emotions and not by what the Lord says. Do not get lost in your feelings or in the feelings of others. Instead learn the difference between the devil and God’s voice. Learn the difference between the Lord’s help and the devil’s snares.
Remember that battles are formed in the mind first and then they go on to penetrate the heart. You can stop the enemy right in his tracks by winning the battle in your mind. In other words, take control of your thoughts.
The bible says to resist the devil and he will flee. Resist ungodly thinking, so that you can live a fruitful and rewarding life. In 2 Chronicles 1: 11 God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king.
Solomon was given the ability to judge well and God is still blessing his people with the ability to discern.
Stay encouraged and trust the process!
My prayer is that God grants you his richest blessings in 2018!
