Have you ever heard someone say “Invite God into Motherhood”? Probably not. However, you often do hear the following; “invite God into your Marriage” or “invite God into your heart” etc. But when did God leave motherhood? Was he ever invited into your plan for raising your children? The bible teaches that God is a jealous God; he wants to be invited into your plans, both daily and future plans. He wants to help you raise your precious babies; after all, he gave them to you. Today, invite God into your mothering and let him be the guiding force in 2018.
Last week I watched a video of a Mother desperately crying out for help and it compelled me to write this blog. I’m not saying that God will magically make Motherhood easy but he’ll make it bearable. Often times as Mothers we miss the grand schemes of things. Stop praying for more help and instead ask God to give you the strength and ability to endure. Our strength has been embedded in us, but we must call upon it, “Pull through strength”. The truth of the matter is some people don’t want to help with your children and that’s ok. Our precious babies aren’t supposed to be left with just any and every one.
Don’t get me wrong, a helping hand is always needed every now and then but I want you to learn to bear the burden, to carry your cross and be a better YOU. A better and stronger you will help your children to become wise, ambitious and focused children. Matthew 11: 28-30 states Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
I was a young Mother once and I thank God for the help that I received with my children. I had a village that lovingly and willingly assisted me with raising my children. However, I also had seasons where I single-handedly took care of them. Thank God that my Bishop never failed to remind me to be strong. Motherhood has never been an easy job and it comes with its fair share of tears. However, the rewards outweigh those moments. Today, I want to tell you to be strong and if just one Mother receive this message then my job has been done.
