Meditation Is Good For the Soul

One daily habit that successful people have in common is that they meditate. More than 18 million people in America meditate daily. It’s become an extremely popular practice. Daily meditation can work wonders on your overall life and well-being. Meditation improves how your brain functions. It lowers stress levels, improves cognitive functioning, creative thinking, productivity and it improves your physical health. Meditation allows people to take charge of their own nervous system and emotions. Practicing mindfulness is life changing. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, mindfulness is defined as the practice of maintaining a nonjudgmental state of heightened or complete awareness of one’s thoughts, emotions, or experiences on a moment to moment basis.

Studies have shown that daily meditation can help you regulate your emotions. I’m more centered and focused in everything I do because of meditation. Meditating truly helps improve mental clarity, solve issues, and helps with your self-awareness. We cannot serve from an empty vessel. It is so vital to take time daily to yourself. Even if it’s only 10 minutes a day, take time to sit quietly and free your mind, your health will thank you later. The ultimate goal is to create more calm moments in your everyday life to increase your happiness and gratitude.

Many times when I feel clouded and overwhelmed, I mediate. It helps me clear my head. After clearing my mind, I often journal to enhance my connection with my values, emotions, and goals. Becoming a daily mediation guru takes time.  Start small and then build up. I started my meditation journey with simple 3-minute sessions. Now I can meditate for a much longer time. Within a couple days or weeks of consistent practice, you’ll notice the difference meditation makes in your life.

You can find many free-guided mediations on YouTube or you can download an app that will remind you to mediate daily.

Here’s a list of five of the best meditation apps out there are:
