Obedience is better than sacrifice!

Although, God stated that obedience is better than sacrifice our human weakness leads us to perform religious duties instead of obeying God. The flesh is weak and it must be constrained.  The desire to look good for people rather than to obey God is a serious flaw. Psalm 14: 12 states “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death”.

Let’s look at the life of King Saul. As you know, he thought that he could serve God and yet be a little disobedient.  He thought if he gave God a sacrifice then he and God will still be cool. God cares about everything you do, so your action never goes unnoticed. God was angry with Saul and he told the prophet, Samuel, to tell him “Which pleases the Lord more, burnt offerings and sacrifices or obeying his commands. It is better to obey the Lord than to offer sacrifices to him (1 Samuel 15:22).

Always keep in mind that obedience is the key to receiving God’s blessings. God knows best and he knows the plans he has for you. Remember that sin leads to death and when sin overruns your life it only leads to a downfall. Obedience will lead you to everlasting life in heaven and an earthly life filled with countless blessings.

Today, say yes to his will and yes to his way; receive salvation and live a life of holiness. Men and women of God please don’t try to substitute sacrifice or worship, for obedience.
