As we prepare for Easter, please remember that this is Holy week!
In just a few days from now the most amazing act of love occurred a little over 2,000 years ago. Jesus Christ an innocent man was condemned to die for the sins of the world. If you are a serious believer, then this is a very sacred time for you. Allow me to share with you some of the ways that you can choose to reverence Holy week. First and foremost, you have to unplug from your mobile devices and television this week, consecrate yourself, increase your bible study and prayer time. With the single goal of understanding the purpose, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
Some of you may say it doesn’t take all of that, but in my opinion, going without those pleasures for a week is the least that we can do. Jesus suffered on that Golgotha hill refusing to come down from the cross. His sacrifice for humanity must never be taken lightly. In just a few days we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Before he left he also promised to grant to us his sweet Holy Spirit to comfort us. I beg you to get a little closer to Jesus and watch his many blessings unfold in your life. Too often we mistake things for blessings. I hate to tell you this, but you are not blessed because of your bank account, the car you drive or the house that you own. Without salvation, you are spiritually bankrupt, and heaven will not be your home. As the songwriter said I would rather have Jesus than silver and gold. The closer I draw to Jesus the more fulfilled and happier my life has become.
The world is ready to celebrate Easter the best way they know how. From bunny costumes to Easter parties. I am calling all my fellow Christians to show “em” how we represent our savior? We are not supposed to prepare ourselves in the same manner that the world does. I am admonishing you to prepare your hearts and minds to receive the Joy of Resurrection Sunday!
