Prayer series: Prevailing Prayers

It may sound cliché, but “bring it to the Lord in prayer” is honestly the best advice that anyone can give you. Friends and family can’t always help us, therefore, it is important to present our problems, issues, and concerns to the Lord. Oftentimes people believe that prayer requires some special technique, but the only blueprint on prayer is the one offered in the scriptures. Anyone can pray, but there are some requirements for effective prayer and here they are:

First, you must have the right attitude when you approach the throne of grace, If you know you have animosity, bitterness, and unforgiveness in your heart.  Leave off praying and be reconciled with those you have negative feelings towards.  Remember God looks at our hearts.

Secondly, make sure that what you are asking for lines up with the will of God for your life. The best way to do so is to search your motives.  Have a good talk with yourself and be honest about it.   Nothing kills an answered prayer like wrong intentions.

Lastly, have faith in God and believe that he is able to do the impossible.  Say this with me, “All things are possible with God” now, you know I like sticky notes so I’ve posted this scripture on my computer.  It serves to remind me that there is nothing too hard for God.

James chapter 4:3  says, You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Let’s aim to pray the right way.  We don’t want anything to stop our prayers from getting answered.  I titled this blog prevailing prayer because I want you to know this truth, Those who have left the deepest impression on our planets have done so because of their strong prayer life.  Cultivate your prayer life and watch everything else fall into place, perfectly.

Remember as you pray this year exercise your faith in prayer.  In other words, don’t ask God for bus fare when he wants to give you a car.  Don’t ask him for a job that can barely pay your bill.  Ask him for a business idea that will cause you to employ others.

Again, don’t forget to be generous with your many blessings.   For those that read last week’s blog remember, God may say, No to some of our prayer requests, but trust his timing.  Continue to prevail in prayer.  Come out from among this microwave generation; we want it quick and we want it now! May patience be developed in our prayer lives.

  2. Love your prayer, “may patience be developed in our prayer” may God indeed give us patience and perseverance in prayer.
The points you stsed were excellent as well.
1.Bring it to the Lord in prayer because truly we sometimes keep it or give it tell it to a friend

When I know I have animosity, bitterness, and unforgiveness in my heart I even ty to talk to God about that as well. Before even going to the person, as I I dont offend the other person in my conversation.

Also thanks for the reminder that with God ALL things are possible. I believe. Great Post!
