Push past the fear

I’ll be the first to admit that overcoming fear in itself is fearful. But as a woman of God and Minister I have to inform you that fear is not of God.  Over the weekend, the words “Push past the fear” was mentioned by one of the Ministers in my church and the words just resonated in my spirit. It was almost like an awakening to a battle. Let the words “Push past the fear” be your mantra for 2018 because it has become mine.  As you know, our newly elected administration is working to overhaul almost every aspect of the federal government.  These changes will eventually impact every area of our lives; health, finances, schools etc. Yet, despite these changes, we have to know that God is bigger than the fear that is gripping our nation’s heart.  Timothy 2 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Let me ask you a couple of questions, what do you fear the most? or who do you fear? to face your fear, you must first identify the root cause of your fear. Once you have done that consider these words, “fear is just an emotion” plain and simple fear is a feeling.  How do you counteract a feeling? You replace it with faith.  The bible says Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of the things not seen (Hebrew 11:1).  Fear can be a Goliath in our life, but God’s word will slay that giant.  That situation that you simply cannot overcome on your own is winnable with God. Will you allow the Lord to help you overcome your fear today?  Remember that he is your Father and although life doesn’t always seem fair.  Remember everything you are experiencing now, will one-day work for your good.   However, to get to the other side of this pain and disappointment you must push past the fear.

As you push past your fear destiny will be there to greet you! I think Job said it best, “after I am tried I shall come forth as pure Gold.”

Don’t run from your trials instead face them.  They were designed to push you forward.
