Let’s be honest, Valentine’s Day can be an overly exciting day for some or a dreadful day for others. Remember that God’s love towards you supersedes your relationship status. As Christians, we are commissioned to love all people (even the ones we can’t seem to get along with). We are petitioned to pray for them and to bless them because God’s will is that no man should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
Look in the mirror and remind yourself that love wins. I encourage you to read 1 Corinthians 13; it breaks down the concept of love. Don’t allow yourself to be led by your emotions today, but let love have its perfect work in your life.
First and foremost, love yourself. This is, after all, a fashion blog, and one of my favorite quotes is from Diane Von Furstenberg who wrote, “When a woman becomes her own best friend life is easier”. Self-love is a deep well that can be tapped into at any time. It makes this journey called life more enjoyable and beautiful. When you love yourself you can love others. Jesus was the epitome of love because he gave his very life for us. If you haven’t found that special person to love you yet, patiently wait. God is mindful of your wants, needs, and desires.
In God’s season, he will allow love to blossom in your life. Keep an attitude of gratitude so that you can receive your portion. Trust me; God has something special in store for you.
Cling to your faith because we live in a time when many people are giving up on God. Allow your love towards God and his people to blossom and bring forth fruits.
It is Valentine’s Day, so show love to a family member, a friend, and even a stranger. Also, treat yourself to something and remember that the most beautiful things in life are free. For example, go for a brisk walk breathing deeply and prayerfully with each step, visit your local library and borrow a career book that will help you to advance yourself in 2018 and if you have to shop then check out Meeka’s website (www.secrettreas.com).
Remember that someone else is more broken-hearted than you today, and despite their pain, they are determined to enjoy the day!
May God’s strength be your portion in 2018!
Yess 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿 . Beautifully written.
